Application Process

 

For both the Premier's International Scholarship, and the One World Scholarship, please read the eligibility criteria before applying. 

Premier's International Scholarship 

The 2016 Premier's Scholarship application period has now closed (deadline April 29, 2016). All applicants will be notified by email in June.

Applications for Premier's International Scholarships include the following:

  • Completed application form;
  • Complete essay (max 500 words) responding to essay question in application
  • Unofficial transcripts of all post-secondary studies to date - in British Columbia and elsewhere (official transcripts may be requested under some circumstances)
  • Two reference forms - one completed by an academic reference (speaking directly to your academic abilities) and one by a non-academic reference (speaking to your volunteer or extra-curricular activities). 

Students must submit their Premier's International Scholarship applications directly to the Irving K. Barber BC Scholarship Society by April 29, 2016 (received by our office). Mail applications to:

Please do not email applications. Hand-delivered applications will, however, be accepted. 

One World International Scholarship 

Applications for the 2016 One World International Scholarship are now open. Deadlines vary by institution. Please see the following application form:

Applications must include the following:

  • Completion of the application form;
  • Unofficial transcripts of all post-secondary studies to date – in British Columbia and elsewhere (official transcripts may be requested under some circumstances);
  • Two reference forms – one completed by an academic reference (speaking directly to your academic abilities) and one by a non-academic reference (speaking to your volunteer or extra-curricular activities).

International Scholarship applicants can also self-select to be considered for high-value Premier’s International Scholarships ($6,000-$10,000) if they meet additional criteria. See above for the Premier's application form.

Students submit their One World International scholarship applications directly to their college or university. Deadlines vary by institution. Please contact the International Programs Office or Financial Aid & Awards Office at your current institution for more details.

Premier's Scholarship recipient student story: Casey Gray

Casey, an anthropology and archaeology student at SFU, spent a semester at a field school program in Kefalonia, Greece.
