Application Procedures

The 2016 application period has now closed. All applicants will be notified by email about the status of their applications in early June.

Instructions for new applicants (Apprenticeship/Certificate/Diploma, Undergraduate, Masters/Doctoral, and Teacher Education):

  • ┬áRead the eligibility criteria for your award category here.
  • Visit the online application system here. (Link will be posted when the award program opens again in 2017). Read the guidelines carefully. Create an account (or log in, if you already have one).
  • To start a new application, you will be asked a series of questions regarding your eligibility for an award.
  • If you are found to be eligible, you will automatically begin the application form. Your work is saved as you go and you may continue to edit the application form until you submit your fully completed application.
  • You must provide an email address for a reference who will confirm your community involvement. The online application system will send an automatic email to your reference with a link to fill out the reference form on your behalf.
  • You must also provide confirmation of your Aboriginal ancestry. You may do this by uploading a copy of your status/membership card, or by providing the email address of a verifier at an Aboriginal organization who will be asked to complete an online form confirming your ancestry.
  • Once you have completed all components on the online form, click "Submit". You may do so even if your reference and confirmation of Aboriginal ancestry are shown as "Pending." Once you submit your application, you are no longer able to make edits.
  • If you are unable to complete an application online, please contact the Society at 1-844-478-4645 to make alternate arrangements.
